Virginia Master Naturalists continue to inquire about the natural world long after their Basic Training ends. Advanced Training opportunities for the Shenandoah Chapter are pre-approved by the Chapter's Volunteer Committee and will be posted on the Opportunity Calendar within the Better Impact volunteer management system.
​Advanced Training tends to be in one of three categories:

Academic Courses

Short courses and workshops offered by state or local partners on specialized topics such as forest management or public speaking skills.

Volunteer Training

Training specific to a planned service project such as Invasive Plant ID or Wildlife Mapping.

Public Lectures

Public lectures on natural history topics if they meet the advanced training objectives and pertain to local natural resources.
